High Point AP Language & Composition

YOUR Quarter 2 Page should have the following:

1. Their Eyes Were Watching God PROMPT. Post your response with an image that demonstrates your understanding of the novel. 

PROMPT: Write a brief (3 paragraph) analysis on at least ONE of the rhetorical/literary devices Hurston uses to advance her theme of either gender or race. 

2. Q2 COLUMNIST PRECIS PAPER PROMPT. Post your 3-paragraph response with a relevant image of your choosing. 

PROMPT: You read 5 columns or editorial pieces by your chosen columnist this quarter. Write a brief analysis comparing the editorials looking for the most commonly used rhetorical device that your author uses (1 paragraph). Once you have found the top two favorite devices, write a brief analysis on  how the author uses those devices to advance their overall meaning (2 paragraphs).

3. Your Q2 SYNTHESIS PAPER FINAL DRAFT. Please post your final draft for the Synthesis Paper. Post with a relevant rhetorically-charged image that relates to your paper, perhaps the image you used in your paper, or another relevant image of your choosing.

4. SYNTHESIS PAPER REFLECTION. Please post the Synthesis Paper Reflection that you wrote when completing your Synthesis Paper Self-Analysis assignment. Please post with a relevant image. 

5. QUARTER 2 REFLECTION. This piece is extremely important. Please write a 2-paragraph reflection on your AP Language & Composition learning for Quarter 2 and post it with a relevant image. Answer as specifically as you can; use real-life examples. Be honest. This is not about brownie points for the teacher, but about owning your own learning experience. Add as much detail as you can. Points are given for effort here.
