YOUR QUARTER 3 REQUIREMENTS

YOUR Quarter 3 Page should have the following:

1. Quarter 3 Brave New World Animoto Project. Post your Animotos with a brief explanation of  how your project demonstrates your understanding of the novel. (Please be sure to embed your project using the <HTML> widget. It needs to be viewable from your ePortfolio site). See example Animoto to below....

2. Quarter 3 Ethics in Brave New World. Please respond to the following prompt and post with a relevant image.

PROMPT: Using detailed evidence from the novel, create an argument about Huxley's predictions of modern life. Develop at least 3 different ideas about ethical issues in the novel Brave New World. (3 paragraphs in length, minimum).

3. Argument Timed Write. Please post a picture of your final draft for the Argument Timed Write on Oscar Wilde's disobedience quote. Post with a brief explanation of the assignment and a relevant image that relates to your essay.

4. SEMINAR ONLY Timeline Presentation. Please embed or link to your final timeline project onto your Q3 page. Post with a brief explanation of what you did and a relevant image.

5. REFLECTION. This piece is extremely important. Please write a 1-paragraph reflection on your AP Lang learning for Quarter 3 and post it with a relevant image. Answer as specifically as you can; use real-life examples. Be honest. This is not about brownie points for the teacher, but about owning your own learning experience. Add as much detail as you can. Points are given for effort here.

PROMPT: What did you learn in Quarter 3 AP Language? Did you meet your own learning goals? Did you earn the grade you deserve? What was the most meaningful unit or assignment we did? What did you gain the most from? What did you wish we had skipped? What are you looking forward to (or dreading!) in Quarter 4? What are your Quarter 4 learning goals?

Example Animoto

YOUR TASK: You will “digitize”  one important concept, scene, imagery, character, setting, chapter, idea, major theme, etc. from the novel. The purpose is to visually demonstrate your understanding of the book. You will turn your understanding into an Animoto by adding relevant images and writing captions for each image. There is no right or wrong way to do this----be creative, choose an idea that will work visually, research and collect your images, and complete your Animoto.

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Go to https://animoto.com. Sign up.
  2. Choose 5 images that relate to your idea/understanding of the novel. Then caption those images to get your point across. Upload them into Animoto and create your slideshow.

POST: "Produce" your Animoto. Using the embed code picked up from the Animoto site, and the <HTML> widget on the ePortfolio yolasite, embed it on your ePortfolio site.
